Begin planning for the 2012 BHTP Campaign! Host an awareness tea party on May 12, 2012.
Blue Hydrangea Tea Party™ is a national campaign to encourage greater awareness of ovarian cancer. Each year on the Saturday before Mothers’ Day, women across the country gather in small groups to have tea and learn about the disease. This network of awareness tea parties was established in 2006 by Elizabeth Ann McCune and Jennie Camp Hudgins, the daughter and sister of Ann Camp McCune, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2002. Ann loved blue hydrangeas, so pairing them with tea parties and Mothers’ Day made naming this annual campaign an easy task!
“To every woman who has suffered the devastating effects of ovarian cancer…Your courageous walk through treatment, survival, and the shadow of death will forever haunt us and gives us the motivation to continue the fight in your honor and memory.”
